Teaching areas
Literature and civilization of contemporary Spain (18th-century to present day) and all levels of Spanish language, including Spanish for Heritage Speakers.  Designed and instructs advanced courses in Business Spanish, Spanish for Transitional and Heritage Speakers, Hispanic Women Authors in Translation, Introduction to Women and Gender Studies, and a First Year Student Seminar entitled “On Cooking, Culture and Cinema.”

Research interests
Contemporary Spanish poetry and prose with emphasis on the works of women writers from the nineteenth century to the present; second language acquisition; and the methodologies and technologies of language teaching and learning.

.Camille Qualtere, Visiting Instructor

B.A., Russell Sage College; M.A., SUNY-Albany

In addition to her Masters’ work, Camille Qualtere completed her doctoral studies (ABD) at SUNY-Albany in the field of Renaissance Peninsular Literature. She also received training in Bilingual Education and Second Language Acquisition. She has been director of Lafayette’s FLL Teaching Internship since 1992. This internship is an integrative course that combines the theoretical study and practical implementation of teaching methodologies, curricular development, and educational psychology. Additionally, she teaches Spanish language and Peninsular literature courses at Lafayette.
