Pardee Hall, Fourth Floor

The Department of Foreign Languages & Literatures (FLL) is located on the fourth floor of historic Pardee Hall, which first opened its doors to Lafayette students in 1872. Today students meet in “smart” classrooms, which allow for the projection of websites, databases, student writing and revision, as well as film clips and videos.

The Department’s dynamic faculty offers seven modern languages (Chinese, French, German, Hebrew, Japanese, Russian, and Spanish) and two classical languages (Greek and Latin), all of which are taught with digital technologies available in Pardee’s smart classrooms and the FLL Resource Center.

FLL and Pardee Hall’s fourth floor are also home to the Max Kade Center, which works toward advancing German-American relations.
